Innovate Your Teaching Using Google Apps in the Classroom.
Learn how to search, explore, innovate, communicate, show and share. Students should have basic technology skills including using email, MS Office and internet literacy. They will be able to pack their 21st century tool bag with a free collection of essential software and apps in order to enhance teaching and increase student learning and engagement in the K-12 classroom. Applications discussed will include Google Docs, Search, and Notebook. Geo Education Apps Earth, Maps, Sketch-up and GoogleSky will also be explored. These tools will empower teachers to bring the curriculum content to students in a compelling, fresh, and fun way; using 21st century strategies that will engage students and model the skills necessary for them to become self directed learners. All classes are taught using a smartboard to further enhance the learning.
Using Digital Media to apply Common Core State Standards in the Classroom.
Each week teachers will learn to use FREE technology tools to produce and publish writing and to interact and collaborate in order to make curriculum connections. Follow us as we take you on a whirlwind tour of our favorite FREE online tools. There will be a focus on tools that students can thoughtfully employ to enhance their reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language while addressing the Common Core Standards. Some of the Web 2.0 tools will include Voice Thread, Twitter, Poll Everywhere, PodCasts, Screencast-O-Matic, Digital Stories, Slideshare, Teacher Tube and Wikispaces... just to name a few. Join us as we unwrap these tools and make curriculum connections. Develop the skills needed to create content and share the tools with your students as you develop learning activities that support the CCSS. Students should have basic technology skills including using email, MS Office and internet literacy. All classes are taught using a smartboard to further enhance the learning.
